The Packers’ trouble at defensive back are no secret. Aside from the outstanding play of Charles Woodson and the solid play of Nick Collins, the Packer defensive backfield is acceptable against mediocre quarterbacks and woefully inadequate against quality quarterbacks.
One name that’s been floating around the mock drafts that might be a value pick at the defensive back position for the Packers is Chris Cook of Virginia.
In 2005 Aaron Rodgers was projected to go high in the draft and many thought he might be a number one pick overall. And then, Aaron waited, and waited, and waited… until he was picked up by the Packers and he has turned out to be the steal of the 2005 draft.
According to Wes Bunting in his Mock Draft 3.0, C.J. Spiller might be set to become another steal for the Packers. Bunting thinks he will quietly slip to the 23rd slot where the Packers will pick up another bargain.
Spiller is expected to be a top ten (or at least a top 15) pick. It’s certainly agreed upon that he’ll be the number one pick among running backs. And, if he slips to number 23 in the draft, could be a huge steal for the Packers.

Keep in mind, Clay ran 4.58 at 240 pounds. He’s bulked up to 250 now which would take a bit off that 40 time. And, Brandon pulled a hamstring on that 40.
